The good folks at the Goodwood unveiled the Ghost Six Senses concept at the ongoing Beijing Auto Show. The Six Senses is a tailor made Roller that has been designed to further elevate the feel of the insides of the Roller.
On the outside, the SS is finished in a shade of Carrera. On the inside, there is abundance of leather on hand crafted seats and Walnut Burr thrown in.
The In Car Entertainment (ICE) equipment in this car includes ‘exciter’ speakers placed in the leather headlining. As for the aroma, the supple natural soft grain leather in enveloping, hand-crafted seats, as well as in the car’s leather headlining. To further pamper you is the coolbox that can keep the temperature of that vintage champagne under check.
The SS surely uplifts the pampering of the rich to a new level.

Volvo is surely getting aggressive. We have often wondered why the Swedish car maker does not tries well to eat into the sales of Germans and it seems like Volvo is on its part to do exactly the same and capture a bigger chunk of the luxury car market. Volvo has always been the makers of arguably the safest cars in world and with its latest design language, there surely is a fair possibility of the carmaker giving a tough fight to the more popular premium car manufacturers.
In the latest development, it has emerged that the car maker aims to capture 15 per cent of the Indian luxury car segment by 2020. Tomas Ernberg, managing director, Volvo Auto India Pvt Ltd, said, “The luxury car market in India would grow to 150,000 units by 2020 and we are targeting 20,000 units out of it.” He also said that the manufacturer is on an expansion spree and its dealerships would double from present 8 to 16 within next 2 years. Also , the manufacturer plans to attain 15% share by bringing more new models to the country.

maybach 62
It is no secret that Daimler’s Maybach limo has never really taken the ultra luxury segment by storm. After about half a dozen incidents of news spreading that the car is soon going to be taken off the production, it is now quite confirmed that the super luxurious sedan will exit from the market as soon as in next year.
Personally, I have always liked the way the Maybach looks but a very large section of potential buyers have dismissed the design and styling of the car owing to the fact that it looks like a bigger variant of the Mercedes S Class. Another reason for the car never gaining much of a popularity is that its brand value is not as high as that of a Roller. Add to all this a price tag that can bring tears to the eyes of the most richest and it can be seen that Daimler never had a winning equation.
Daimler now feels that it had enough of losses and there is not much of a point keeping this car alive. As for the final batch of the Type 62 that is sitting at the dealers, it is available at a discount of about $100k (INR 52 lakh). This surely is one beeeeg discount for a car that retails for equivalent of about INR 2.20 crores in US market.
However, it still remains to be seen if such a discount will bring some of the rich folks to the manufacturer’s dealerships.

2012 Mercedes Benz ML350 CDI
Mercedes India is all set to launch the 2012 M-Class in the Indian market.
The latest edition of the popular SUV is an all new product. However, the first word that comes to the mind when glanced at is – ‘Bland’. Though Mercedes seems to have solved the space issue which made the previous M-Class a hassle to sit in. There is a visible change in the size of the car and looks like the 2012 M-Class will come with an extended wheelbase taken from its elder sibling the GL-Class. The 2012 M-Class also features a huge panoramic sun-roof which will make the cabin come alive with fresh incident light. There is also the wrap around rear windscreen which makes the M-Class stand out of the crowd.
The insides are typical Mercedes top notch standard quality with a lot of wood used to give that upmarket feel. The ML 350 CDI will be laucnched first. The motor here pumps out some 258bhp and churns out 63.2kgm of pulling power. The motor is mated to a seven-speed 7G-Tronic gearbox along with permanent four-wheel drive as a standard feature.
The car could be priced in INR 65-70 lakhs bracket.

2012 Hyundai i20 Fluidic
Hold your breath guys, for the i20 we are going to talk about delivers a mind boggling 37 Kmpl! And 37 kms per litre of diesel!! Yes, 37 kmpl is what the South Korean manufacturer claims for the newly released 3 cylinder, 1.1 Litre common rail turbo diesel motor that finds a home in the engine bay of the facelifted i20. Equipped with the 1.1 Liter U-II diesel engine, the new version of the car has been readied for the European market and the motor lets you play with the power of some 74 horses along with a pulling power of 152 Nm. This new gen motor is equipped with variable geometry turbocharger and a balancer shaft to keep the vibes in check. It may be noted that more vibrations are an inherent issue with three cylinder engines.  This engine has also been used in Hyundai i10 and the cousin- Kia Picanto. Another great aspect of this motor is the low CO2 emissions of 88g/Km.
With our car market being obsessed with ‘kitna deti hai?’, it is a matter of time before Hyundai decides to spoil us silly by bringing this motor to the country.
